Wacky Wednesday: Why Lifetime Customers Should Make Your Rules

🤪 Wacky Wednesday: Why Lifetime Customers Should Make Your Rules
Let’s CUT the company CRAP for a second.
Most so-called customer service rules are absolute nonsense—dreamed up in a boardroom by people whose last real customer interaction was probably complaining about the free peanuts on a flight.
They’re rigid. They’re out of touch. And they’re annoying as hell to the people you need to thrive (customers, right?).
🔥 What If Customers Made the Rules?
What if we did something completely, gloriously unhinged?
What if we handed the pen to the people who actually matter?
Let your customers decide how they want to be treated.
Sounds like chaos?
Good.
Chaos is where innovation lives.
💥 Stop Forcing Customers Into Your Process
Imagine this.
Instead of blasting everyone with the same boring weekly newsletter they never asked for, let customers decide.
* Bombard me.
* Just send the important stuff.
* Leave me the hell alone unless there’s a fire.
Instead of trapping people in a robotic ten-step phone tree, let them choose how they want support.
Quick chat.
Detailed email.
A callback at exactly 3:15 PM.
They’re not participants in your process. They’re the architects of it.
🚫 Customer-Centric Is Dead
I’m tired of hearing companies brag about being customer-centric.
The phrase has been beaten to death.
Forget customer-centric.
Become customer-surrendered.
That’s how you build customer loyalty that competitors can’t touch.
People won’t stay because you’re the cheapest.
They’ll stay because you’re the company that actually listened.
📖 Burn the Damn Rulebook
Do everyone a favor.
Take that dusty, laminated rulebook…
…and throw it in the trash.
Or better yet…
Light the sucker on fire. 🔥
Then let the people who pay your salary decide how they want to do business with you.
Your customers will thank you.
Your employees will be less miserable.
And your bottom line might just throw you a parade.
😈 Be Different. Break Dumb Rules.
Happy #WackyWednesday, you magnificent rule-breakers.
Now go cause some beautiful trouble.
And remember…
The dumbest business rule of all is believing you know better than your customer.
If you’re tired of corporate claptrap and crave more unfiltered thinking on customer experience, leadership, business growth, and differentiation, subscribe for a weekly dose of uncomfortable truths.
Be Different. Or Be Dead.
Cheers,
Roy
