SAVED. THEN. SQUANDERED.

šŸš€ Audacious Moveā„¢ of the Week

SAVED. THEN. SQUANDERED.

Businesses are investing heavily in AI productivity tools to automate work, save employee time and improve efficiency.
But realizing a return on investment (ROI) from AI requires more than measuring hours saved.
It requires clear accountability for turning those productivity gains into measurable business results.

šŸ¤– Congratulations. You’ve Saved 100 Hours.

A recent Gartner Report found that only 21% of employee time freed by AI is being redirected toward more innovative work.

Think about that.

Companies are investing heavily in artificial intelligence.

Automating work.

Eliminating tasks.

Saving thousands of employee hours.

And celebrating their productivity gains.

Wonderful.

But I have one question.

WHO OWNS THE TIME YOU’VE SAVED?

Because if nobody owns it, nobody is accountable for what happens to it.

And that’s a BIG problem.

šŸ’„ The Missing Line on Your Scorecard

Organizations meticulously track AI investments.

Software costs.

Implementation expenses.

Hours saved.

Productivity improvements.

But once those hours are saved?

They disappear.

Absorbed by meetings.

Swallowed by routine activities.

Consumed by more of the same.

SAVED. THEN. SQUANDERED.

Imagine investing $1 million in new equipment and having no plan for what it would produce.

Ridiculous.

Yet that’s essentially what businesses risk doing with the capacity AI creates.

šŸ¦… Enter The Strategy Hawkā„¢

In my BE DiFFERENT Growth Playbookā„¢, The Strategy Hawkā„¢ is responsible for making damn sure the Strategic Game Planā„¢ gets EXECUTED.

Not admired.

Not discussed endlessly.

EXECUTED.

And AI productivity gains create a new challenge for the Hawk.

When technology frees up 100 hours, the Hawk doesn’t simply applaud the savings.

The Hawk asks:

WHO gets those hours?

WHAT Strategic Game Planā„¢ priority will they advance?

WHAT results must they deliver?

WHEN will we see them?

WHO is accountable for delivering them?

Then the Hawk follows through.

Challenges.

Tracks.

Intervenes.

Calls the Audibleā„¢ when necessary.

Because time saved without strategic direction is simply an opportunity to waste more time.

AI creates the capacity.

The Strategy Hawkā„¢ makes sure it gets used to execute the strategy.

šŸ”„ Stop Celebrating the Wrong Thing

Here’s what bothers me about the AI productivity conversation.

We’re celebrating the INPUT.

Hours saved.

Tasks eliminated.

Costs reduced.

But where are the strategic RESULTS?

The new revenue?

The improved customer experience?

The growth opportunities created?

The competitive advantage strengthened?

Those are the results that deserve applause.

And The Strategy Hawkā„¢ should be relentless in demanding them.

Because the objective isn’t to become more efficient at doing business.

It’s to become more effective at WINNING business.

STOP CELEBRATING HOURS SAVED.

START DEMANDING RESULTS CREATED.

SAVED. THEN. SQUANDERED.

Don’t let it happen.

šŸ¤– COPYING. JUST. ACCELERATED.

šŸš€ Audacious Moveā„¢ of the Week

COPYING. JUST. ACCELERATED.

Artificial intelligence is making businesses faster and more productive—but if everyone uses AI to produce similar ideas, strategies and customer experiences, differentiation becomes even more important.

šŸ¤– AI Makes Copying Ridiculously Easy

AI is everywhere.

Organizations are using it to write.

Analyze.

Research.

Design.

Plan.

Serve customers.

Develop products.

And make decisions.

The promise is enormous.

Do things faster.

Do things cheaper.

Do more with fewer resources.

Great.

But there’s a strategic problem nobody seems to be talking enough about.

AI also makes it ridiculously easy to copy.

Ask the same questions.

Use the same data.

Study the same competitors.

Apply the same best practices.

And pretty soon everyone starts producing variations of the same thing.

Faster.

šŸ‘ Welcome to the Accelerated Herd

I’ve argued for years that benchmarking is dangerous.

You study the best.

You copy what they do.

They study someone else.

They copy what they do.

Eventually everybody starts looking alike.

Welcome to the Herd of Samenessā„¢.

AI pours gasoline on it.

Because now you can discover what everyone else is doing almost instantly.

And replicate much of it just as quickly.

That might improve your efficiency.

It will NEVER improve your competitive position.

Being faster at becoming the same is not a growth strategy.

šŸ”„ CREATE NEW. DON’T COPY YESTERDAY.

This is why the first Move in the BE DiFFERENT Growth Playbookā„¢ is CREATE IT.

You declare HOW BIG?

You choose WHO to SERVE.

You discover WHAT those specific customers CRAVE.

Then you determine HOW you intend to COMPETE & WIN.

Not by asking:

ā€œWhat are our competitors doing?ā€

But by asking:

ā€œWhat can we do to satisfy what the WHO craves in a way that no one else?ā€

That question changes everything.

Because the objective isn’t to become incrementally better than everyone else.

It’s to become The ONLY Oneā„¢ who does what you do.

AI can help you get there.

But only if you use it to stimulate creation rather than accelerate imitation.

šŸŽÆ Turn AI Around

Here’s an Audacious Move.

Stop asking AI:

ā€œWhat are the best companies in my industry doing?ā€

That question sends you straight toward the herd.

Instead ask:

ā€œWhat is everybody in my industry doing—and what could I do that is completely different?ā€

Now AI has a different job.

Not showing you what to copy.

Showing you what to avoid.

Use technology to expose sameness.

Then use human imagination to escape it.

Because as AI makes copying easier, the strategic premium on being DiFFERENT goes UP.

Not down.

AI can accelerate your business.

Just make damn sure it isn’t accelerating you toward everyone else.

CREATE. DON’T COPY.

šŸ¤– COLLIDE. DON’T. COMPLY.

COLLIDE. DON’T. COMPLY.

The best way to use AI in business isn’t to get better answers; it’s to challenge your thinking and create ideas you wouldn’t have reached on your own.

šŸš€ Audacious Moveā„¢ of the Week

Stop Asking AI šŸ¤– for Answers. Use It to Collide With Your Thinking.

Bold Decisions Create Extraordinary Businesses.

I hope it helps you create yours.

šŸ¤– Most Businesses Are Using AI the Same Way

Ask AI a question.

Get an answer.

Write something. Summarize something. Automate something. Do it faster.

Useful? Absolutely.

But everyone else can do exactly the same thing.

If we all use AI the same way, we create more sameness.

How does that help you BE DiFFERENT?

šŸ’„ Don’t Use AI as an Answer Machine

I don’t want AI doing my thinking.

I want it colliding with my thinking.

I bring experience, ideas, instincts and context.

AI brings questions, challenges, connections and patterns I may have missed.

I push back. AI pushes back. I reject. We revise.

And through that collision, we discover.

šŸš— AI Is My Collision Vehicleā„¢

I don’t think of AI primarily as an Answer Machine.

I think of it as my Collision Vehicleā„¢.

The process:

THINK → COLLIDE → DISCOVER → CREATE → BE THE ONLY ONEā„¢

Use AI as a Thinking Partner to challenge your thinking until you discover something uniquely yours.

šŸ” Use AI to Discover What Others Never See

The first principle of The BE DiFFERENT Codeā„¢ is:

Discover what others never see.

That’s where the business-growth opportunity lies.

Ask AI to challenge assumptions, expose sameness, connect ideas and pressure-test your strategy.

Don’t just ask AI for answers.

Ask it to help you discover.

šŸŽÆ Use AI to Discover Your ONLY

Most businesses are using AI to become more efficient.

Go further.

Ask:

ā€œHow can AI help us discover what makes us uniquely valuable?ā€

What can we do that others can’t?

What Customer Cravingsā„¢ can we satisfy uniquely?

What can we create rather than copy?

Use those discoveries to create The ONLY Statementā„¢ and become The ONLY Oneā„¢.

šŸ”„ Don’t Let AI Make You More Ordinary

Everyone has access to AI.

So AI itself isn’t a competitive advantage.

What you discover with it might be.

Don’t use AI to become faster at doing what everyone else does.

Use it to discover what makes you impossible to copy.

šŸš€ What’s Your Next Audacious Moveā„¢?

Stop treating AI like an Answer Machine.

Give it your experience, instincts, assumptions, strategy and ideas.

Then collide.

Challenge. Reject. Refine. Discover.

Because the highest-value use of AI may not be getting an answer faster.

It may be discovering the idea that makes you The ONLY Oneā„¢.

Why AI šŸ¤– Should Mess With Your Head

šŸš€ Audacious Moveā„¢ of the Week

Why AI šŸ¤– Should Mess With Your Head

Bold Decisions Create Extraordinary Businesses.

I hope it helps you create yours.

Most people are using AI wrong.

They ask it questions.

They ask it to write stuff.

They ask it to give them answers.

I use AI differently.

I use AI as my Collision Vehicleā„¢.

I throw my ideas at it.

It pushes something back.

I challenge it. Reject it. Change it. Ask ā€œWhat if?ā€ Throw another idea into the mix.

And sometimes two ideas collide and something completely new emerges.

šŸ’„ Don’t Let AI Do Your Thinking

This is the danger with AI.

Ask it to do all your thinking and you’ll eventually sound like everyone else using the same technology.

AI shouldn’t replace your thinking. It should give your thinking something to challenge.

I bring my experience.

My judgment.

My ideas.

My intellectual property.

My point of view.

AI helps me pressure-test and improve them.

That’s a completely different relationship.

šŸš€ AI Multiplies What YOU Bring to the Collision

This is the key.

AI multiplies what YOU bring to the collision.

Bring experience, original ideas, a strong point of view and something uniquely yours—and AI can help you make it better.

Bring nothing original?

Don’t expect AI to magically make you different.

I use AI as a Thinking Partner.

An Editor.

A Research Assistant.

A Content Multiplier.

A Presentation Partner.

A Memory Bank.

And an Execution Accelerator.

One idea can collide with AI and become a sharper concept, an article, a presentation, a podcast, a social post—or something I hadn’t even considered.

But the original thinking is still mine.

The better the thinking you bring to AI, the more valuable the collision can become.

šŸ”„ BE Imperfect FASTā„¢ With AI

I don’t obsess over writing the perfect prompt.

I start.

AI responds.

I react.

I revise.

We go again.

Execute. Learn. Adjust.

That’s BE Imperfect FASTā„¢.

And it’s exactly how I’ve learned to get more value from AI.

The more we collide, the better the outcome becomes.

🧠 AI Becomes Part of Your Strategic Learning System

This is where AI gets really interesting.

Used properly, AI accelerates the cycle between thinking, doing, learning and improving.

It doesn’t just help you produce things faster.

It can help you think better while you’re producing them.

That’s why I see AI as part of my Strategic Learning Systemā„¢.

Not the thinker.

Not the strategist.

Not the boss.

The Collision Vehicleā„¢.

šŸš€ What’s Your Next Audacious Moveā„¢?

Stop asking AI to think for you.

Bring it something worth having AI challenge.

Your experience.

Your ideas.

Your point of view.

Your uniqueness.

Then collide.

Challenge.

Learn.

Adjust.

And create something neither you nor AI would have created alone.

Don’t use AI to replace your brain.

Use it as your personal ā€œtest of reasonablenessā€ to make your brain more valuable.

Don’t ask AI to make you different. Bring something different to AI.
