Of course you need to be competent.

You need the skills to do the job.

You can’t be a “DiFFERENT Idiot.” 😂

But competence is the price of admission.

It gets you considered.

It doesn’t get you chosen.

Being qualified makes you eligible.

Being DiFFERENT makes you chosen.

Create a unique place for yourself that no one else occupies.

When promotion decisions are made, you don’t want people comparing your qualifications with everyone else’s.

You want them saying: “There’s nobody else who does what they do.”

Now you’re not competing with the qualification herd.

You’re incomparable.

That’s career advantage.
